RSW plants for pelagic vessels:
RSW plants are supplied for cooling of herring, mackerel, blue whiting and capelin on board pelagic fishing vessels. The units come in various designs, depending on which solution is preferred. The units are built as compact skids, but can also be erected at sight if it is more appropriate. The units are supplied with control systems, DX-evaporator, condenser and piston or screw compressors. After the restrictions on the use of R-22 arrived, we focus on NH3 as refrigerant. Refrigerants filling is minimal and the risk that the Flux-Hi systems will freeze with the consequence that refrigerant will be released áinto the catch is therefore negligible. The plants supplied with control systems and is built as a compact system.
As well as the RSW system Frost supplies all valves and controls for the sea-water distribution system.
RSW plants for ground fish vessels:
Frost offers RSW systems for cooling of ground fish in the reception bin and during processing onboard ground fish vessels. The RSW systems are specially well suited where rapid cooling of large quantities is required.
It is worth while to consider the use of RSW system instead of a slurry Ice system. The RSW systems are a much simpler construction than the slurry systems, with much fewer moving parts, they require therefore little attention or maintenance.
The initial investment cost of a RSW system can bee as much as 50% lover than for an Ice slurry system.
Normally the units are delivered as compact skids, but the units can be made to suit the customers requirements and the space available.
